She learned to clap her hands about 3 weeks ago. And she is so proud of herself when she does it too... She claps and dances and shakes her head. She is such a joyful little thing!

She started crawling this week. She is such a determined little thing and just wants to be a part of whatever is going on around her.

She's teething. So she has been a bit crabby and needy this afternoon. She wants to be held constantly and don't even think about walking out of the room without her! She slept for a very tiny bit this afternoon all the while clutching her blankie...

This is all so out of character for her. She is usually the most content and happy little sweetie pie. So I know she must really be bothered. We gave her some tylenol and orajel and she is in bed for the night so hopefully tomorrow will be a better day for our little monkey!

Happy {1/2} Birthday Baby Girl!!

She's 6 months old today. I can't even believe it!! It's so wierd actually because it seems like just yesterday I was so anticipating her arrival and the day couldn't get here quick enough when I could finally see my daughter...then at other times I can't hardly remember when she wasn't in my life! Time is a funny thing!

Ava...I don't even know if there are words that could adequately express just how much I love you my darling...but I will try....

You are 6 months old already and such a beautiful baby. EVERYONE thinks so! Even strangers will stop to talk to you and tell us how pretty they think you are and they are amazed at how many smiles you give away!! Your face just lights up when people look at you.

You are such an easy baby, always so content. You love to cuddle and I love it too. I love singing to you and watching you discover the world around you. You have been sitting up for about amonth and quite confidently in the last week or so. Recently you started getting up on all fours and rocking like you'll start crawling any minute! You let me dress you up and put all kinds of bows and headbands and hats on your head and paint your little piggies. You don't mind a bit! You are my little doll. You are the tiniest little baby girl which is so hard to believe by all the food you eat! You like every kind of veggie and cereal and most fruit. Especially banana! Your favorite though is to nurse and I don't mind. I will miss those intimate times that only you and I share. You really enjoy being on the floor with your baby dolls around you, although recently you have been very interested in your big brothers toys...

Speaking of your big brother...He absolutely adores you and just can't get enough of you. He almost always refeers to you as 'my baby sister' instead of by your name. He is also very protective of you. He wants nothing more than to make you laugh and to shower you with kisses. It's sweet to see him treating you so gently and loving you with such tenderness. He tries to include you in everything he does. You love watching him play, and I know you just can't wait to be running around with him.

Your daddy thinks you are pretty sweet too. He always tries to get you to laugh(which isn't hard for him). He loves to find all of your ticklish spots. I love listening to him talk softly and sweetly to you when he is getting you ready for the day or just cuddling with you while he cradles you so perfectly in the crook of his arm where you often fall asleep so calm and content.

I wish that I could freeze time and keep you just the way you are because you are so perfect! But I know I can't. So I will be gratefull for every moment that I get with you and I will treasure all your smiles and cuddles.

You are my dream come true! I love you more than I could ever say with words!

Ava went swimming for the first time today. She seemed to enjoy herself. She had a little too much fun though as you can tell by the last picture. She fell asleep while I was holding her in the pool!

She was a cutie today. She is getting so big! She is still such a peanut but she is learning to sit up now and really plays with her toys. She is so fun. It's nice that she doesn't just sit there anymore. She rolls all over and giggles and is just such a joy to be around! Doesn't she look big in her new rocking chair! We got rocking chairs for the front porch and they had matching ones for kids so we got each of the kids one. They are so adorable.

So...everytime I am feeding Ava her cereal she tries to grab the spoon so I thought I would just try to see if she would hold her cup of water. She took it like a pro! I was very impressed! She's a good girl!

I'm not a big fan of large dogs. But Halas was a really good girl on our trip to Branson last weekend. She is so spoiled!! She thinks she is human!! :)

She's been sick. Lot's of hacky coughs and green snots! She's still a happy girl though. She got lot's of TLC the last few days. Daddy stayed home with her yesterday and I stayed home with her today.

She seemed to be feeling better so I took her with me while I ran some erands. Well I was being lazy so I didn't pump her a bottle before we left. I took formula instead. Well she was crabby for a while and then projectile vomitted all over the living room table!! Oops! Sorry Ava!

Once again confirming that I will do my best to continue breastfeeding until she is one and can drink regular milk.

Ava rolled over for the first time tonight. She rolled from her back to her tummy. We were cheering her on and when she did it we got oh so excited and clapped and carried on!!

Ava's {dedication}

At our church we have baby dedications instead of baptisms. Today was Ava's dedication. They brought us to the front of the church and we were challenged to offer her back to God and to raise our daughter to know Christ and be the examples of godliness to her. The the pastor prayed for us and for Jack and Ava.
We got so many comments of how cute she looked and how good she was.
Thank you everyone that came to celebrated this special day of giving our baby girl back to the {one} who gave her to us!!

My darling, Ava, you are 3 months old today! I am holding you in my arms as I type this one-handed. I have almost mastered this skill as I have been practicing now for the last 3 months!

I love that you are such a cuddler. You have such a sweetness about you. I love seeing you smile every morning! You always wake up so happy! You recently started laughing...it makes us laugh everytime!

Your big brother is so proud of you and you absolutely adore him. Your eyes follow him all over the room as he runs around entertaining you. He loves hugging and kissing you and you can't get enough of him!

Your daddy enjoys making you smile...he was actually the first person you smiled at!

You have turned into such a good natured baby. We have learned what you like and dislike. You like to fall asleep being rocked with a pacifier in your mouth and a blankie over your head. You don't like to sleep on your back. You like to be sung to. You don't like it when people throw you up above their head. You like to rub your hair between your fingers when you nurse. You like getting dressed or undressed. You love having a bath. You don't like being cold when you get out though! I know there will be so many more things we will learn about you. I can't wait to find out all those things that will make you, YOU!

I love you baby girl. You have filled me with more love than I knew was possible. There are so many things I want to say to you...

I felt horrible last night...I tried cutting Ava's fingernails and the very first one I did resulted in this!!! She cried so hard and I felt like such a meany!! It wouldn't stop bleeding either! Poor baby girl.

But then she gave me this...a great big smile to let me know it was ok!

I am hoping this will serve as a journal/scrapbook for them. I will still keep jaxmom2.blogspot.com but hope to do one for each of the kiddos too. This might prove to be too much but we'll see...
